By the handle or across the body

A briefcase is carried by its top handle; a messenger bag hangs from a long strap with a flap over the front. Most of these do both. The Briefcase Bag has two buckled straps over the flap, a top handle and a laptop compartment for machines up to 14". The Messenger Bag Classic uses the same buckled flap and comes in three widths: 13.7", 14.9" and 17.3".

Prefer a zipper to a flap? The Laptop Messenger Bag is 15" × 11" and holds laptops up to 15". The Messenger Bag zips shut and adds two buckled pockets on the front. The Laptop Bag Stylish is ordered by screen size, from 11–12" up to 17–19", so a big workstation laptop still gets a bag cut to fit.

Personalized leather briefcases

Monogrammed briefcases can be done three ways. Initials or a name can be laser engraved, pressed into the leather with heated metal stamps, or stamped in gold or silver foil. A company logo is engraved from the file you send after ordering. The leather is full-grain Crazy Horse in Black, Brown, Cognac, Light Cognac or Green; it is waxed, so it lightens along the folds, and a light scuff rubs out with your thumb.

A briefcase is carried by a top handle and keeps its shape. A messenger bag hangs across the body on a long strap and closes with a flap. The Briefcase Bag and the Messenger Bag Classic have both a handle and a shoulder strap, so you don't have to pick one way of carrying.

Can I get a custom leather briefcase made?

Every bag here can be personalized with initials, a name, a date or a logo. The Laptop Bag Stylish is also cut to your screen size. If you need a size that isn't listed, email support with the measurements.

Will my laptop fit?

Check the screen size first: up to 14" for the Briefcase Bag, up to 15" for the Laptop Messenger Bag, and 11–12" to 17–19" for the Laptop Bag Stylish. The Messenger Bag Classic is listed by outside width, so if your laptop falls between two sizes, take the larger one.

Is a leather briefcase worth it?

If you carry the same bag every workday, yes: scuffs on waxed leather rub back out instead of fraying. If you switch bags often or need something very light for flights, canvas or nylon will serve you better.
