Handmade Leather Knife Rolls & Knife Bags for Chefs

Decide between a roll and a bag before you count slots. A knife roll, also sold as a knife wrap, holds each blade in its own slot, then rolls up and straps shut, so it packs flat into a backpack or locker. A knife bag is a case with compartments and a handle, which suits a cook who carries knives, a steel and small tools to work every day.

Chef Knife Rolls

The Professional's Leather Knife Roll is the one most cooks start with, and the one they search for as a leather chef knife bag: 3 to 16 slots, a 15.7" (40 cm) or 19.7" (50 cm) height, an accessory pocket for a thermometer or pens, a buckle closure and an adjustable shoulder strap. If your longest knife, handle included, comes close to 15.7", order the 19.7" roll.

The Chefs Knife Roll is simpler and costs less. It comes with 3, 5, 7 or 9 slots at a single 16.1" (41 cm) height, and a leather flap folds over the blades before the straps close it. The Premium Knife Roll Bag has 5, 10 or 16 slots in the same two heights as the Professional's, contrast edging (Green with Cognac, or Blue with Red), a leather handle and a detachable shoulder strap.

The Waxed Canvas Knife Roll has a canvas body in black or light cognac and leather trim in five colors. It has 4 to 16 slots, a zippered pocket and a shoulder strap, and it only comes in one length, 15.7" (40 cm).

Knife Bags and Small Cases

The Knife Bag measures 17.3" × 5.9" × 5.1" (44 × 15 × 13 cm). It closes with a buckle, has several compartments inside, and you carry it by the hand strap or the adjustable shoulder strap. Laser engraving takes text or an image, and a logo is emailed to sales@pikore.shop after ordering. Where it goes depends on the model: on the Professional's roll you pick the left or right side of the inner pocket, the left or right side of the outside, or the middle. Should I get a knife roll or a knife bag?

A roll if you carry knives only and want them flat in a backpack. A bag if you also carry a steel, a peeler, a thermometer and the rest, and want a handle to grab.

How many slots do I need?

Count your knives and add one or two for a steel and a spatula. The Professional's roll goes up to 16 slots; the Chefs Knife Case X2 holds two.

Which height fits a long chef's knife?

Measure the knife from the tip of the blade to the end of the handle and compare it with the roll height. The Professional's, Premium and BBQ rolls also come 19.7" (50 cm) tall for longer knives; the Chefs Knife Roll and the canvas roll come in one height only.
