Carriers by the weight of your pet

The Dog Travel Bag and the Cat Carrier Tote Bag come in three sizes: Small for pets of 7–11 lb, Medium for 13–15 lb and Large for 17–22 lb. The dog bag is a boxy carrier with a mesh window, a zipper and a front pocket. The cat tote looks like an ordinary leather tote until the side flap opens and your cat puts its head out.

The Pet Carrier Classic is a rounded bag with mesh panels along both sides, top handles and a zip closure. Leather and your pet's name

Everything here is cut from full-grain Crazy Horse leather in Black, Brown, Cognac, Light Cognac or Green. It is waxed, so a light claw scratch on the outside usually rubs out with a thumb, but it is still leather: keep a wet dog off it or dry it before it goes back in the car. Your pet's name, your initials or a small drawing can be engraved or stamped on the side.

Can I take a leather dog carrier on a plane?

In the cabin, the carrier has to fit under the seat in front of you, and each airline sets its own dimensions; some also cap the combined weight of pet and bag. Check both on your airline's site against the sizes above before you book.

What size carrier does my dog or cat need?

Go by weight: Small for 7–11 lb, Medium for 13–15 lb, Large for 17–22 lb. If your pet sits between sizes or is long rather than heavy, pick the larger bag so it can turn around.

Which pet carriers are crash-tested?

Crash testing is a separate certification for car travel, and these are carry bags for walking, shopping and the cabin. In the car, use a crash-tested crate or a harness that clips into the seat belt.

Can I add my pet's name?

Yes. Choose engraving or stamping when you order and type the name; a pet's portrait or a logo can be engraved from a file you send.
