Personalized Custom Leather Document Holders with engraving and stamping

A4 and US Letter look interchangeable until a Letter sheet refuses to slide into an A4 folder. Letter is a quarter inch wider; A4 is 0.7 inch taller. Every leather document holder on this page is made in the paper standard you print on, so start there.

Folders and padfolios

The Document Folder is a flat leather sleeve with a flap and a long tie that wraps around it. Inside are pockets for cards and receipts and a loop for a pen. It comes in six sizes, from A5 (8.3" × 5.8") to US Ledger (11" × 17"). For drawings and plans there is the A3 Document Folder, 16.6" × 11.7" with a strap closure, and diplomas have their own leather folder for certificates.

A tie is quick to open, but it is not a seal. If your papers ride loose in a bag all day, a zipper is the safer choice. The Zippered Padfolio Titan is cut for A4 and US Letter sheets. The Zippered Padfolio Minimal can ship with a 100-page writing pad inside, and the Zippered Padfolio Executive (13.4" × 9.8") has corner straps that hold a tablet. Need a handle too? The Zippered Padfolio Bag has a top handle, a 21.7" to 29.5" shoulder strap and room for a laptop or tablet up to 13".

Passports and travel papers

At the airport you want everything in one hand. The Travel Document Holder (5.7" × 8.4") zips around a passport, boarding passes and cards, and its wrist strap keeps it on you at the gate. Families can use the Family Passport Holder, a zip-around leather document organizer for four passports, boarding passes, cards and cash. Smaller jobs go to the Passport Holder & Luggage Tag and the ID Holder with Lanyard.

Initials, logos and the leather

The leather is full-grain Crazy Horse, a waxed hide that turns paler along a fold you open every day; surface scratches buff out under a thumb. You can add initials, a name or a company logo: laser engraving handles text and logos, and stamping presses letters into the leather plain or in gold or silver foil. Colors are Black, Brown, Cognac, Light Cognac and Green.

FAQ

What size leather document holder do I need?

Match the paper, not the bag. Letter-size contracts and résumés go in a US Letter folder or the Titan padfolio, A4 printouts need A4, and drawings or ledger sheets need the A3 folder. For a passport, tickets and cards, the Travel Document Holder is enough.

What is a leather document holder called?

It depends on the shape. A portfolio or padfolio usually zips shut and holds a writing pad; a document folder is a flat sleeve with a flap; a travel version is often sold as a passport or travel wallet.

Can I order a custom document holder?

Yes. Personalization is chosen when you order. If none of the six folder sizes fits your paper, email support with the measurements and ask for a custom size.

Do people still carry leather portfolios?

For interviews, client meetings and signing paperwork, yes. A portfolio keeps printed pages flat and gives you something firm to write on, which a tablet screen can't.

Is this the same as a document holder for a desk?

No. A desk document holder is a stand that props pages next to your monitor while you type. These carry and protect paper; they don't stand up on a desk.
